Participant Information

Qualification for Championships singles and team events is through NCTTA League play leading to one of six NCTTA Regional Championships. Individuals and teams that have been extended an official invitation to participate in the Championships can register for the event and make travel/lodging arrangements using the information below.
Double Tree by Hilton Monroeville

Hotel

The Championships tournament hotel is the Double Tree by Hilton in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. The Double Tree boasts more amenities than any other lodging choice in the area with our its superior comfort, service and convenience. The Double Tree is offering discounted rates for the tournament participants.

Travel

Air travel - Monroeville, PA is served by Pittsburgh International Airport (code: PIT) which is about 31miles from the hotel and competition venue.

Radius

Car travel - Monroeville, PA is located within easy driving distance of numerous major North American Cities: Washington DC, Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Toronto, Baltimore, Buffalo, Harrisburg, and Columbus.

Train travel - Amtrak train service is available to Pittsburgh's Union Station.

Shuttle service - Only for guests of the Double Tree tournament hotel
Complimentary airport shuttle service is available for Championships attendees flying into Pittsburgh International airport and staying at the Double Tree tournament hotel. This complimentary service is only available at certain times and for up to 25 people (first come first served), so be sure to book your arrival and departure within the specified window to take advantage:

  • Arrivals (airport to hotel shuttle): Thursday, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm; Friday at 11am
  • Departures (competition venue to airport shuttle): Sunday, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm
Bus

The Visit Monroeville shuttle will pick up passengers at Passenger Pickup Gate 1 at the assigned times. Be aware that the shuttle will not wait for passengers.

For those arriving at other times, you'll have to arrange your own transportation from the airport. NCTTA has coordinated a group rate with Super Shuttle for airport transportation.

Singles Registration

Singles qualification is through the singles competition at the NCTTA Regional Championships. Qualification follows Sections 7.3 (National Championships Regulations) of the 2013-2014 Rules and Regulations. Invited qualifiers can register for the Championships by completing the following steps:

  1. Reserve your room at the DoubleTree hotel using the online reservation page. Be sure that each person staying in your room is registered as a guest.
  2. Save your hotel confirmation number; you will need it for tournament registration. If you are not a registered hotel guest, you will be charged an additional $250. NCTTA will check the validity of all confirmation numbers with the hotel. Players who do not stay at the DoubleTree, and do not pay the $250 penalty, will be removed from the Championships.
  3. Complete the online Singles Registration Form by the appropriate deadline.
  4. Be sure you have a team/school uniform. Uniforms are required even for singles competition.

Doubles Registration

Doubles registration is open to players that have already qualified for the Championships in either the singles or team event. Both players on a doubles team must represent the same school. The top 32 men's doubles teams and top 16 women's doubles teams entered by the registration deadline will be selected to compete in the Men's and Women's Doubles events. (Any doubles teams not selected will have their entry fee refunded at that time). See Section 7.4 of the NCTTA Rules and Regulations for more details on the doubles qualification process. To register for the Men's or Women's doubles event, please complete the following steps:

  1. Reserve your room at the DoubleTree hotel using the online reservation page. Be sure that each person staying in your room is registered as a guest.
  2. Complete the online Doubles Registration Form by the appropriate deadline.
  3. Be sure you have a team/school uniform. Both members of the doubles team must wear matching shirts during the doubles competition.

Para Table Tennis (Disabled) Singles Registration

Registrations will be accepted as space permits; there are no special qualifying tournaments for the Para Table Tennis Event. Interested disabled participants can register by following these instructions:

  1. Reserve your room at the DoubleTree hotel using the online reservation page. Be sure that each person staying in your room is registered as a guest.
  2. Complete the online Para Singles Registration Form by the appropriate deadline.
  3. Take the Championships Eligibility Form to your school's registrar for verification and mail the completed form to NCTTA.
  4. Be sure you have a team/school uniform. Uniforms are required even for singles competition.

Team Registration

Championships qualification and competition follow Sections 7.2 and 7.6 (National Championships Regulations) of the 2013-2014 Rules and Regulations. Please read this document to understand the basic rules governing the event. Invited men's/coed and women's teams may register for the Championships by completing the following steps:

  1. Reserve your rooms at the DoubleTree hotel using the online reservation page. Be sure that each person staying in your room is registered as a guest, and each member of your team is a guest in one of your rooms.
  2. Save your hotel confirmation numbers; you will need them for tournament registration. Each player or coach who is not registered as a hotel guest will be charged an additional $75. NCTTA will check the validity of all confirmation numbers with the hotel. Players and teams who do not stay at the DoubleTree, and do not pay the penalty of $75 per person, will be removed from the Championships.
  3. Complete the online Team Registration Form by the appropriate deadline (see below).
  4. Email a photo of your team and an image of your school's logo (both print quality, 300 DPI or higher) to
  5. Be sure each team member has a team/school uniform. All uniforms should be identical.
  6. (Optional) Bring two team signs for the team scoreboards. Team signs should be tabloid size (11 x 17 inches), laminated, and the main color must not be white. NCTTA will have plain signs for each team, but you are invited to bring your own, stylized with your school logos. Your school name should be easily identifiable when looking at the sign.

There is no separate Championships Eligibility Form required for teams, the Spring League Eligibility Form already submitted for your team is sufficient.

Fundraising and Financial Assistance: Please read NCTTA Funding Request Information for suggestions on requesting funds from your school and other sources of funding. If you would like to request financial assistance from NCTTA please complete the Financial Assistance Application but be advised that such assistance is very limited.

Additional Coaches, Managers, or Chaperones

The team registration fee is for up to 8 players and 1 coach/manager. In the event an additional coach, manager, or chaperone will be attending the Championships with a team or singles participant, the cost is $75 for the first additional person, and $100 for the second or third. There is a maximum of 3 additional coaches. Each coach registration includes the following:

  • Credential for access to the competition venue throughout the Championships
  • Lunch at the venue on days when the athlete(s) being coached are playing
  • Ticket to the Championships banquet
